This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Making Disciples of Jesus.
"Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
— Matthew 28:19-20 (NLT)
When Jesus gave us our marching orders, He didn't tell us to build complex religious programs. He gave us one clear, simple charge: make disciples.
A disciple is simply a follower of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to lead others to place their faith in Jesus alone, and to follow His teachings alone.
This is so important today. We aren't called to teach human philosophies or the shifting opinions of man. We must avoid messages that have nothing to do with being a true follower of Jesus—teachings that completely ignore the reality of sin, the call to repentance, and our need for saving faith. True discipleship deals with the heart, pointing people straight to the cross of Christ.
Our mission is to make fellow followers of Jesus. And what do we teach them? We teach them exactly what Jesus taught in the New Testament.
Today, let’s keep the main thing the main thing. Let's point someone to the real Jesus..
That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
