Let's listen to God's Word in Deuteronomy 30:6 (KJV):
"And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live."
What a beautiful promise! God knows that our greatest need is not simply to change our behavior—it is to have a changed heart. Left to ourselves, we do not naturally love God the way we should. We need Him to do a work within us.
That is exactly why Jesus came. He went to the cross to pay for our sins, rose again, and gives new life to everyone who believes in Him. Through Jesus, God changes our hearts. He gives us new desires, a new love for Him, and a new desire to obey His Word.
If your heart feels cold today, don't try harder on your own. Come to Jesus. Ask Him to continue His work in you. The same Savior who forgives our sins also transforms our hearts. And as He changes us from the inside out, we discover the joy of loving Him and following Him every day.
