Christian, do not be shocked if the enemy assaults your mind. Scripture says the devil fires “flaming arrows” at God’s people (Ephesians 6:16). Some of those arrows are vile, disturbing, or accusatory thoughts. Their arrival does not automatically mean you wanted them, agreed with them, or belong to them.
What matters is what you do next.
Do not sit down and make peace with sinful thoughts. Do not analyze them endlessly. Do not let Satan turn temptation into despair. Bring every thought captive to Christ. Reject what is evil. Cling to what is true. Fill your mind with God’s Word instead of feeding fear.
Remember: Christ was tempted, yet without sin. He is not a distant Savior who cannot sympathize with weakness. He is a merciful High Priest who helps His people in their time of need. The enemy may throw filth, but he cannot condemn those who are in Christ Jesus.
So when vile thoughts come, do not say, “I am defeated.” Say, “I belong to Christ.” Resist the devil. Submit yourself to God. Stand in the truth. The Lord knows how to preserve His people, and your hope is not in the perfection of your battle, but in the perfection of your Savior.
Hebrews 4:15 (BSB):
"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin."
James 4:7 (BSB):
"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
That's it for this podcast.Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
