The Bread You Need

This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: The Bread You Need.

Jesus says in John 6:35, “I am the bread of life.” Those are not cold words. They are full of mercy. Jesus is speaking to hungry souls—to people who are tired, empty, burdened, and looking for something to finally satisfy the heart.

For the Christian, this is a tender reminder. Even after coming to Christ, it is easy to feel dry, distracted, and weighed down by the world. We know what it is to search for comfort in things that cannot truly feed the soul. But Jesus does not turn His people away when they come weak and weary. He reminds us that He is still our life, still our peace, and still our joy. What the world can never give, Christ gives freely and fully.

For the non-Christian, this is a loving invitation from the Savior. Maybe you have spent years chasing things you hoped would fill the emptiness—success, pleasure, approval, relationships, or control—only to find that the hunger remains. That emptiness is not an accident. It is a testimony that you were made for more than this world can offer. You were made for God, and your sin has separated you from Him. But Christ has come to save sinners. He is not offering a temporary distraction. He is offering Himself.

When Jesus says, “He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst,” He is telling us that in Him there is real forgiveness, real peace, and real rest. The soul that comes to Christ does not find disappointment—it finds a Savior who is enough.

So whether you belong to Christ already or whether you know deep down that you are still far from Him, do not keep feeding on what leaves you empty. Come to Jesus. Bring your sin, your weariness, your fear, and your need. The Bread of Life is still enough.

That's it for this podcast.Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
