Hosea 14:4 NIV
“I will heal their waywardness and love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them.
These words were spoken to a people who had wandered far from God. Their backsliding was not small—it was deep, willful rebellion. Yet God does not respond with abandonment. Instead, He declares, “I will heal.”
This reveals the mercy of God. Sin wounds the soul and separates us from Him, but God Himself provides the cure. He restores what we have broken. He mends what we have corrupted.
Then He says, “I will love them freely.” This is the love of God—unearned, undeserved, and flowing from His own goodness. God’s love is not based on our performance but on His character. He chooses to set His love on sinners who repent and turn to Him.
Finally, “My anger has turned away.” God is holy, and His anger against sin is just. But for those who are in Christ, that anger has been satisfied. Jesus bore the wrath we deserved so that we might receive mercy, love, and forgiveness.
This is the goodness of God: He heals the guilty, loves the undeserving, and restores the broken.
Turn to Him today. Repent of sin, trust in Christ alone, and rest in His faithful love.
That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
