This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Help in Our Weakness.
Romans 8:26 (BSB):
"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words."
This verse speaks directly to a reality every believer knows—weakness. Not strength, not self-sufficiency, but frailty. Even in prayer, one of the most basic acts of the Christian life, we often don’t know what to say or how to say it.
But God has not left His people to struggle alone. The Holy Spirit actively helps. He does not merely observe—He intercedes. He takes our broken, confused, and imperfect prayers and brings them before the Father in perfect accordance with God’s will.
This is profound comfort. Your prayers are not effective because they are eloquent—they are effective because the Spirit is at work in you. Even when words fail, even when all you feel is burden or silence, the Spirit is faithfully interceding.
This also humbles us. It reminds us that we are dependent on God for everything—even for praying rightly. There is no room for pride in the Christian life, only reliance.
So when you feel weak, don’t withdraw—draw near. Pray, even when it’s hard. Trust that the Spirit is helping you, sustaining you, and aligning your heart with God’s purposes.
Your weakness is not a barrier to God’s work—it is the very place where His grace is most clearly displayed.
That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
