This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Everlasting Love.
"The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: 'I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have drawn you with loving devotion.'"
— Jeremiah 31:3 (BSB)
Think about the word everlasting. In our world today, almost everything has an expiration date. Electronics break, trends fade, and human relationships can sometimes drift or change.
But God’s love for you is entirely different. It is constant, unchanging, and covers every single day of your lifetime.
Through the prophet Jeremiah, God declares that He has loved you with an "everlasting love." This means that before you were even born, He loved you. In your moments of joy, He loves you. And even in your moments of struggle, doubt, or failure, His love remains absolute.
Notice how the verse ends: "therefore I have drawn you with loving devotion."
This is an active, pursuing love. God's love doesn't just sit back and watch us from a distance; it reaches out to us.
His love reached out to save us from sin through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. But His love is also a daily shield. When we make mistakes or begin to walk off the right path, God doesn't abandon us. Instead, His love protects us from dangers we cannot see and gently, patiently guides us back. He doesn't drive us back with anger; He draws us back with loving devotion.
Today, you are held by a love that has no beginning and no end. No matter what you are facing, you can trust His guiding hand to lead you forward.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me with an everlasting love. Thank You that Your devotion is constant through every season of my life. Thank You for saving me, protecting me when I wander, and gently guiding me back to Your path. Draw me close to Your heart today. Amen.
