Christian - forgiven - grateful

Welcome to my blog. I’m Richard Templin Hancock, a believer who has found rest in the redeeming love of Jesus. Whether through the written word or my devotional podcasts, I’m here to share the hope found in the Gospel and to encourage you to trust in God’s promises every single day. I'm glad you're here—let's walk this path together.
I hope the following blog posts will be an encouragement to you:

Faithful to the message of Jesus and the Apostles

Acts 2:42 says, "They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer." This verse brought to mind the importance of holding fast only to the teachings of Jesus Christ and the message He entrusted to the Apostles. It would be wise for us to be vigilant against anything that might steer us away from the Lord's teachings.

John 8:31-32 states, "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

In 1 Corinthians 11:2, Paul writes, "Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you."

Galatians 1:6 expresses, "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel."

And Ephesians 2:20 reminds us, "And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone."

Paul's message to Timothy contains wisdom we would be wise to heed. In 2 Timothy 3, he writes: "But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them."

Let's pray. Father God, we thank you for Jesus and the profound message He brought to all of humanity. We are grateful for the faithfulness of the Apostles who diligently shared that message with others. And we thank you, Lord, for the faithful ministers of today who remain devoted to You, Your son Jesus, and the teachings of the Apostles. Amen.
