Oh, the sorrows that come upon those who choose another God than the God of Israel.
Psalms 16:4 "Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips."
Let's be careful to be obedient.
Exodus 23:13 "Be careful to do all things that I have said to you; and don’t invoke the name of other gods, neither let them be heard out of your mouth."
Avoid the false gods/religions of the land.
Joshua 23:7 "That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:"
Avoid many sorrows and trust the LORD.
Psalms 32:10 "Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about."
Let us pray. Father God, thank you for sending your Son Jesus Christ to show us your way. Help us this hour to live a life of obedience to you, the only true God. Amen.
