Joy in the Holy Spirit
Romans 14:17
“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”
Have you ever experienced the joy of the Holy Spirit? Romans 14:17 tells us that the kingdom of God is about “righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
What brings true joy to our lives? Having our sins forgiven.
Listen to what the Bible says:
Psalm 32:1–2:
“Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit.”
Isaiah 1:18:
“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”
Acts 3:19:
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.”
And 1 John 1:9 tells us:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
We can also experience the joy of the Holy Spirit when we reflect on God's great love for us.
John 3:16 says:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Our sins forgiven—and on top of that, eternal life!
What a reason to rejoice in Jesus!
Let's take time today to thank God for the joy of the Holy Spirit. And let's make a fresh commitment to love God and follow His Son, Jesus Christ.
