This is Follow Jesus Radio, encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: “You Were on His Heart.”
Maybe today your heart feels tired. Maybe you are carrying grief, guilt, fear, or quiet heaviness that no one else can see. In moments like that, the words of Jesus in John 10:11 bring deep comfort. He does not speak as a distant Savior, but as the Good Shepherd who loves His sheep.
John 10:11 (BSB):
"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep."
Jesus did not go to the cross unwillingly. He went in love. He laid down His life for His sheep. He was not surprised by the cost, and He did not shrink back from it. He knew fully what it would take to save His people, and still He went.
If you are His, then you were not forgotten at Calvary. You were on His heart. The Shepherd saw the full weight of our sin, our wandering, our weakness, and our need, and He loved His own all the way to the cross.
So when your heart feels troubled, look to Jesus. When guilt speaks loudly, look to Jesus. When you feel weary and unseen, look to Jesus. The Good Shepherd does not turn away from His sheep. He lays down His life for them, gathers them near, and holds them fast.
What tender mercy this is: the One who died for His sheep is the One who still watches over them. He is not finished with His people. He still keeps, restores, and carries those who belong to Him.
So rest your heart in Him today. If you belong to Christ, you are deeply known, fully loved, and forever kept. The cross says so. You were on His heart.
That’s it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
