John 14:9 (KJV)
"Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?"
Philip's request seems sincere: "Show us the Father." Yet Jesus gently rebukes him because the Father had already been revealed in the Son. To know Christ is to know the Father. To see Christ is to see the perfect revelation of the Father.
This is one of the great blessings of the New Covenant. Under the Old Covenant, God's glory was revealed through shadows, sacrifices, the tabernacle, and the temple. His holiness was displayed, but access was limited. Sin kept people at a distance.
In Jesus Christ, everything changed. God did not merely send another prophet to speak about Him—He sent His eternal Son to reveal Him perfectly. Christ is the exact expression of the Father's character. His compassion reveals the Father's heart. His holiness reveals the Father's purity. His sacrifice reveals the Father's love. His resurrection reveals the Father's power.
Because Christ has shed His blood and fulfilled the New Covenant, believers no longer approach God through earthly priests or repeated sacrifices. We come to the Father through the Son, welcomed by grace and clothed in Christ's righteousness. The God who once dwelt behind the veil now invites His redeemed people into His presence through Jesus Christ.
If you want to know what God is like, fix your eyes on Christ. The more you know the Savior, the more you know the Father who sent Him. There is no clearer revelation of God than the Lord Jesus Christ.

Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing Yourself perfectly through Your Son. Thank You that through Christ and His finished work, I have confidence to come into Your presence. Help me to know my Savior more deeply each day, that I may know You more fully and walk in joyful obedience. May my life reflect the grace and truth I have received in Christ. Amen.
