Resting in God's Sovereign Grace

This is Follow Jesus Radio, encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Resting in God's Sovereign Grace.

Ephesians 1:11 KJV
"In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:"

There are days when life feels uncertain. Plans change, prayers seem unanswered, and we wonder what God is doing. It is in moments like these that Ephesians 1:11 lifts our eyes from our circumstances to our faithful Father.

Paul tells us that in Christ we "have obtained an inheritance." Follower of Jesus, your greatest treasure is not something waiting to be earned someday—it is already secured for you because you belong to Jesus Christ. Eternal life, full acceptance before God, and every spiritual blessing are yours by grace.

Then Paul reminds us that we were "predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will." What a comforting truth. Our lives are not directed by fate, luck, or human strength. They are held in the hands of a sovereign God who never makes a mistake. Nothing enters your life apart from His wise and loving purpose.

That does not mean every day is easy. There will be trials, disappointments, and seasons of waiting. But behind every circumstance stands a heavenly Father who is accomplishing His perfect will and conforming His children to the likeness of His Son.

So today, if your heart is anxious, remember this: the God who chose you in Christ, redeemed you by His Son, and promised you an eternal inheritance has not stopped caring for you. You can trust Him with today's burdens because He already holds tomorrow. Rest in His sovereign grace, walk in faithful obedience, and rejoice that your inheritance in Christ is eternally secure.

That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
