This is Follow Jesus Radio, encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is:
Help Me, Jesus
Let's listen to God's Word in Psalm 61:2–3 (KJV):
"From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy."
Have you ever felt overwhelmed? David certainly did. He didn't pretend to be strong. Instead, he cried out to God and prayed, "Lead me to the rock that is higher than I."
When our hearts are overwhelmed, our prayers don't have to be long or complicated. Sometimes the most powerful prayer is simply, "Help me, Jesus."
Then, by faith, begin to thank Him even before you see the answer. Say, "Thank You, Jesus, that You are with me. Thank You that You are already at work." As you wait on Him, trust that He will give you the wisdom, strength, and direction you need for the next step.
David remembered that God had always been his shelter and his strong tower. The same is true for us. Jesus is our Rock. He is our refuge when life feels too heavy. He never leaves us to face our burdens alone.
So today, if your heart is overwhelmed, don't carry the weight by yourself. Simply pray, "Help me, Jesus." Then thank Him, trust Him, and watch how He faithfully leads you one step at a time.
Until next time, keep your eyes on Jesus.
That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
