This is Follow Jesus Radio, encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is:
Come and See
Let's listen to God's Word in John 1:35–39 (KJV).
John the Baptist looked at Jesus and said, "Behold the Lamb of God!" When two of his disciples heard those words, they left John and began following Jesus. Seeing them, Jesus asked a simple question: "What seek ye?" They replied, "Master, where dwellest thou?" Jesus answered, "Come and see."
As I reflected on this scene, I was struck by the humble beginnings of Christ's church. There were no large crowds, no impressive buildings, and no great display of power. There was simply Jesus calling a few ordinary people to come and be with Him.
Isn't that still how Jesus works today? Before He sends us out, He calls us to Himself. He invites us to spend time in His presence, to listen to His Word, and to know Him personally. A growing Christian life begins with being with Jesus.
Those two disciples could never have imagined what would come from that one invitation. The Savior they followed would go to the cross for their sins, rise again, and build a church that would reach the ends of the earth.
Jesus is still saying, "Come and see." If you'll spend time with Him today, you'll discover that there is no greater joy than walking with the One who gave His life for you. The more we know Jesus, the more we want to follow Him.
Until next time, keep your eyes on Jesus.
That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
