This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Our Father in the Secret Place.
In Matthew 6:6, Jesus says, “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”
What a gift this is. Jesus teaches us that when we pray, we are not speaking into the air, and we are not trying to impress people with spiritual words. We are coming to our Father. That is the language Jesus gives His followers. He introduces us to God not as a distant force, but as Father.
Through Jesus, we are brought near. Because of His life, death, and resurrection, those who trust in Him are welcomed into a real relationship with God. We do not need to invent impressive titles or chase some deeper spiritual formula. Jesus teaches us something beautifully simple and personal: call on your Father.
That means prayer is not about performance. It is about nearness. It is about a child of God coming before the Father who sees, knows, and cares. In the quiet place, behind the closed door, your Father is there. He sees the tears no one else sees. He hears the prayers no one else hears. He knows what His children need.
So today, do not overcomplicate prayer. Come to God through Jesus and speak to Him as Father. The Son has made the Father known, and because of Jesus, the secret place is not empty. Your Father is there.
That's it for this podcast.Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
