Let's listen to God's Word in the Gospel of John:
"In Him was life..."
— John 1:4
I was thinking today about the fact that in Jesus was life. He was there with our Heavenly Father, the source of all life. So, when we all breathed our first breath, Jesus was the one giving us that breath! I am breathing right now because Jesus wills it. When it is time for me to go, then He will take my breath away. But all life is in and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Now, I have a chronic illness. I have asked God to heal me of that. But that healing has not happened yet. It is not His will right now, but God is teaching me to trust Him and have faith in Him through it all.
He is, after all, the One who holds the entire universe in His hands. As the writer of Hebrews reminds us in chapter 1, verse 2:
"...in these last days He has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He created the world."
— Hebrews 1:2
Let's pray: Lord Jesus, thank You for the literal breath in my lungs today. Even when I walk through physical weakness and unanswered prayers for healing, I choose to trust Your perfect will and Your timing. Thank You for being my Creator, my Savior, and my life. Fill my heart with Your light today. Amen.
