How Jesus Invited People

I thought a good way to invite people to faith in Jesus for salvation would be to use His words from the New Testament. Here are some examples:

Mark 1:15 (WEB)
“...The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News.”

John 3:16-18 (BSB):
"‘For God so loved the world that He gave His one and onlySon, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son."

John 5:24:
"Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life."

John 6:35-40:
"‘Jesus answered, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst. But as I stated, you have seen Me and still you do not believe.  Everyone the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never drive away.  For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but to do the will of Him who sent Me.  And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of those He has given Me, but raise them up at the last day. For it is My Father’s will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.’"

John 6:47:
"Truly, truly, I tell you, he who believes has eternal life."

John 7:37-38:
"On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and called out in a loud voice, ‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’’"

John 8:12:
"Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.’"

John 10:9-11:
" I am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture.  The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.  I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep."

John 11:25-26:
"Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?’"

John 12:44-46:
"Then Jesus cried out, ‘Whoever believes in Me does not believe in Me alone, but in the One who sent Me. And whoever sees Me sees the One who sent Me. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in Me should remain in darkness.’"

John 14:6:
"Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’"

Matthew 11:28-30:
"‘Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.’"

Luke 19:10:
"‘For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.’"

A few especially direct invitations are:

John 6:37 — Jesus says the one who comes to Him He will never cast out.

John 7:37 — “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.”

Matthew 11:28 — “Come to Me…”

John 11:25-26 — Jesus calls for belief in Him as the resurrection and the life.

Fellow follower of Jesus, may the life-changing words of Jesus fill your heart and guide you as you reach out to the lost with His powerful, life-saving words.
