This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: His Tender Mercies.
"Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;"
— Psalm 103:1-4 (KJV)
When we stop to count the "benefits" of serving God, our minds often jump to the massive, miraculous milestones of our lives. But the Psalmist David reminds us of a beautiful, daily reality: we are crowned, surrounded on every single side, by God's lovingkindness and tender mercies.
Think about how far back those tender mercies actually go in your own story.
God's mercy didn't just start yesterday. It was His tender mercy that carefully designed and created you in your mother's womb. His tender mercies watched over you when you took your very first baby steps, keeping you safe before you even knew His name. His mercy was right there when you first walked into a school classroom, when you celebrated getting your very first job, and even when you sat in the quiet disappointment of losing a job.
Through every transition, every valley, and every ordinary day in between, His mercy has been the quiet thread holding your life together.
And His tender mercies are actively resting on your life this very hour. Because you have accepted His Son, Jesus Christ, you are covered in His grace. He has forgiven your sins, redeemed your life from destruction, and crowned you with His eternal love.
As you go through your day today, take a moment to look back, remember His track record, and bless His holy name.
That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
