This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Beware False Prophets.
Jeremiah 23:21-24 I sent not these prophets, yet they ran: I didn’t speak to them, yet they prophesied.
But if they had stood in my council, then had they caused my people to hear my words, and had turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
Am I a God at hand, says the LORD, and not a God afar off?
Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? says the LORD. Don’t I fill heaven and earth? says the LORD.
Fellow believers in Jesus, consider this: God rebukes them because they say, “You shall have peace” to those who despise Him, and “No evil shall come upon you” to those walking in stubborn sin (Jer. 23:17).
That is one of the most obvious marks of a false ministry:
* No serious warning about sin
* No call to repentance
* No fear of God
* No coming judgment
* No narrow gate
* No cost of discipleship
Any ministry that reassures the unrepentant is a liar’s ministry.
This matches the New Testament as well. Paul warns in 2 Timothy 4:3–4 that people accumulate teachers who suit their passions. False teachers thrive because sinful people often prefer soothing error to saving truth.

True ministry calls people to turn from evil God says:
Jeremiah 23:22 (BSB):
"‘But if they had stood in My council,they would have proclaimed My words to My people and turned them back from their evil ways and deeds.’"
That verse is decisive. A true messenger of God does not merely inspire, entertain, or affirm. A true messenger confronts sin with God’s word so that people turn from evil.

That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
