I hope these blog posts will be a source of encouragement to you as you walk with Jesus:

Perfect Peace in a Distracted World.

"This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Perfect Peace in a Distracted World."

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." — Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)

In the original Hebrew, the phrase "perfect peace" is actually Shalom, Shalom. In the Bible, repeating a word emphasizes its completeness and intensity. God doesn't just offer a temporary calm or the absence of conflict; He offers a double portion of peace—a wholeness that guards the heart even when the world is in chaos.

The promise comes with a condition: our minds must be "stayed" on Him. To have a "stayed" mind means to lean, to rest, or to be established firmly. Think of a pillar supporting a great building; it doesn't move when the wind blows. In these last days, Jesus is God’s final and greatest revelation to the world (Hebrews 1:1-2). When we set our minds on Jesus, we are setting our minds on the very source of life. Our anxiety often grows when our eyes are fixed on our problems, the news, or our own limitations. But when we pivot our gaze to the character of Christ—His power, His love, and His sovereignty—peace begins to settle the soul.

Isaiah reminds us that this peace exists "because he trusteth in thee." Trust is not a passive feeling; it is an active commitment. First, we must believe on Jesus that He is the Messiah. Then we follow Him and obey His Word. When we align our lives with His commands, we move out of the friction of sin and into the smooth path of His grace. Second, we must look for His return. We know the King is coming, and He is bringing His eternal peace with Him.

Take a moment to identify what has been "staying" your mind today. Is it a worry? A deadline? A grievance? Intentionally hand that thought over to God and replace it with the truth of who Jesus is.

Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus. I admit that my mind often wanders into fear and distraction. Today, I choose to stay my mind on You. I commit to obeying Your Word and following Your lead. Let Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard my heart and mind as I wait for Your glorious return. Amen.
