How To Live Godly

This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: How To Live Godly.

Let’s reflect on 1 Timothy 4:8, which states, "For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

This verse reminds us of the immense value of godliness in our lives. While physical exercise has its benefits, the pursuit of godliness brings lasting rewards that extend beyond this life into eternity. Living a godly life means aligning our thoughts, actions, and desires with the character of Jesus.

So, how do we live godly? It begins with a personal relationship with Jesus. When we accept Him as our Savior, we are transformed from the inside out (2 Corinthians 5:17). This transformation empowers us to live according to His teachings and example.

To live for Jesus, we can start by immersing ourselves in His Word. The Bible is our guide, revealing His heart and will for our lives. Regular prayer is essential, as it deepens our connection with Him and allows us to seek His guidance in every decision.

Additionally, we should strive to reflect His love in our interactions with others. Jesus taught us to love our neighbors and even our enemies (Matthew 5:44). By showing kindness, compassion, and forgiveness, we embody the godliness that Paul speaks of.

Finally, let’s remember that living godly is not about perfection but about progress. It’s a daily commitment to follow Jesus, allowing His Spirit to work in us and through us. As we pursue godliness, we can be assured of the promise of a fulfilling life now and the hope of eternal life to come.

Let's pray.  Dear Lord, thank You for the promise of a godly life. Help us to live for You each day, reflecting Your love and character in all we do. May we grow closer to You and experience the fullness of life that You offer. In Jesus' name, Amen.

May you be encouraged to pursue godliness today!

That's it for this podcast.Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
