Proverbs 3:13: "Happy is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gets understanding."
We all want happiness.
We look for it in stability… in relationships… in accomplishments… in the hope that something in this life will finally settle the restlessness inside us.
But Scripture redirects us. It says happiness — true blessedness — is found in wisdom.
Not worldly wisdom. Not self‑help strategies. Not cleverness.
Biblical wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord. It begins when a person sees God as holy, themselves as sinful, and life as accountable to Him. That realization humbles us. And that humility opens the door to understanding.
But the fullness of wisdom is not found in a concept.
It is found in Christ.
The New Testament tells us that Jesus Christ has become to us wisdom from God (1 Corinthians 1:30). In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3). To find wisdom is, ultimately, to find Him.
When you turn from sin and trust in Christ alone, something changes at the deepest level. You are reconciled to God. Your guilt is removed. Your purpose becomes clear. You begin to see life not as random or chaotic, but governed by a sovereign and good Father.
That produces a settled joy.
Not a fragile happiness tied to circumstances — but a steady, rooted contentment anchored in truth.
Trials may come. Emotions may rise and fall. But the heart that has found Christ has found wisdom — and that heart is truly blessed.
If you are searching for happiness, seek the Lord. Ask Him for wisdom. Turn to Christ. In knowing Him, you will discover the kind of joy the world cannot give — and cannot take away.
Happy is the one who finds wisdom.
Happy is the one who finds Jesus.
