Persevere Under Trials
1 Corinthians 9:25 NIV says:
“Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.”
As I read this verse, I was reminded that athletes endure strict training for a crown that will not last. But as followers of Jesus, we are looking forward to something far greater—a crown that will last forever.
James 1:12 tells us:
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”
Trials can be difficult, but Jesus encourages us to remain faithful to Him. He even tells us in Revelation 3:11:
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”
So today, let’s be encouraged to persevere under trials and remain faithful to Jesus.
When life gets difficult, consider what Jesus endured for us on the cross to save us from our sins.
He remained faithful through suffering and gave His life for us.
Surely, with His help, we can remain faithful to Him through the trials and challenges we face in this life.
Keep holding on to Jesus. The crown that awaits those who love Him will last forever.
