This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: The Enemy Of Our Souls.
Have you ever sat quietly in the evening or early morning, only to have a flood of old mistakes and failures rush into your mind?
In those moments, a heavy voice whispers: "How could God ever use you? How could you be a Christian after what you've done?"
We have to recognize where that voice is coming from. It is not the Holy Spirit; it is the enemy of our souls. The Bible reveals that Satan's primary tactic is to accuse us.
Let's listen to God's Word in Revelation:
"...for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night."
— Revelation 12:10
The devil loves to point to our past to make us feel unworthy, but Jesus points to the cross. When the enemy cannot stop us from being saved, his next plan is to make us doubt that we are truly forgiven. He tries to make us believe our sins are too big for God's grace.
But look at the promise we have in First John:
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
— 1 John 1:9
Our forgiveness does not depend on our feelings; it depends on God’s faithfulness. When we confess our sins directly to Jesus, they are instantly washed away.
Still, the enemy will try to foster a lingering sense of shame and guilt to keep us from approaching God in prayer. We must reject his lies and stand on the truth of Romans:
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."
— Romans 8:1
Let's walk out into our routines today in perfect freedom, refusing to let the enemy drag us back into a past that Jesus has already erased.
That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
