This is Follow Jesus Radio, encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Our Inheritance Is Secure.
Let's listen to God's Word in Ephesians 1:11 (KJV):
"In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will."
This verse is filled with hope because it points us to Jesus. Notice how it begins: "In whom." Everything we have is found in Christ. Our forgiveness, our eternal life, and our inheritance are all gifts of God's grace through His Son.
Because we are in Jesus, our inheritance is secure. It isn't something we earn, and it isn't something we can lose. It was planned by God before we were ever born and purchased for us by Jesus through His death and resurrection. What an amazing assurance that gives us!
This verse also reminds us that our lives are not unfolding by chance. God is working all things according to the counsel of His own will. Even when we don't understand what He is doing, we can trust that our heavenly Father is accomplishing His perfect purpose. His timing is always right, His wisdom never fails, and His love for His children never changes.
So today, rest in Jesus. Rejoice in the inheritance He has given you. Trust His sovereign hand in every detail of your life. The God who chose you in Christ, saved you through Christ, and keeps you in Christ will faithfully complete His good purpose for you.
