Like Them That Dream

This is Follow Jesus Radio, encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Like Them That Dream.

Let's listen to God's Word in the Psalms:

"When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them."
— Psalm 126:1-2 (KJV)

Have we ever felt the sheer, overwhelming awe of coming back home to God? Perhaps we spent a season wandering in our own captivity—trapped by our anxieties, our past mistakes, or a heavy sense of spiritual dryness. When we are stuck in those dark valleys, freedom can feel like a distant, impossible hope.

But look at the beautiful picture the Psalmist paints of God’s deliverance. When the Lord restores our souls, the joy is so deep and so sudden that it feels completely surreal. We are left standing in absolute wonder, feeling like them that dream. Our hearts overflow with genuine laughter, and our mouths are filled with songs of praise.

This is the pure, breathtaking reality of God's love and mercy. When we turn back to Him, He doesn't meet us with condemnation or a list of demands. Instead, He breaks our chains and floods our lives with His peace. The transformation is so real and beautiful that even the people around us can't help but notice, seeing His hand at work in our lives.

If we have been feeling distant, tired, or captive to worry today, let’s remember that our God is the ultimate Restorer. Returning to Him is not a walk of shame; it is a pathway straight to unspeakable joy. Let's run back to His warm embrace today.

Let's pray: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your incredible love and mercy that set us free from every form of captivity. When we wander or feel weighed down, draw our hearts back to Yours. Fill our mouths with laughter and our tongues with singing today. We stand in absolute awe of Your goodness. Amen.

Until next time, keep your eyes on Jesus.

That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
