This is Follow Jesus Radio, encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: God Is for Me.
Let's listen to God's Word in the Psalms:
"When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word."
— Psalm 56:9-10 (KJV)
There are seasons in our lives when the spiritual battle intensifies. When the enemy of our souls, Satan, launches attacks against our minds, our peace, or our homes, we can easily feel overwhelmed.
But the Psalmist gives us the perfect battle plan for those moments.
First, when we are under attack, let’s not try to fight in our own weak strength. Let's immediately cry out to God! We must call upon the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the sovereign, covenant-keeping God who sent Messiah Jesus to win the ultimate victory over all darkness at the cross. When we cry out to Him, the Bible promises that the enemy must turn back.
Second, we must keep our eyes fixed on His promises. David repeats it twice: "In God will I praise His word." When the lies of the enemy are loud, let’s tune out the noise and open our Bibles. Let's focus our minds strictly on the unchanging, rock-solid promises God has given us in His Word.
And finally, let's make it our daily habit to pray for a divine, protective shield. Let's ask the Lord to place His heavy cover of protection over us, our minds, our homes, and our families, keeping us safe from the arrows of the wicked one.
Because God is actively for us, the enemy cannot defeat us. Let's walk in His victory today.
Let’s pray: Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, thank You that You are always for us. When the enemy attacks, help us to cry out to You immediately. We pray for a divine, protective shield over ourselves and our families today. Keep our eyes firmly fixed on the promises of Your Word, and walk with us in victory. Amen.
That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
