This is Follow Jesus Radio, encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Don't Get Entangled.
Our Scripture today is 2 Timothy 2:4:
"No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier."
When I read this verse, I'm reminded that Paul isn't telling us to neglect our families, our work, or our daily responsibilities. He's warning us not to become so wrapped up in the things of this world that we lose sight of the One we belong to.
Every day, we're pulled in a hundred different directions. Deadlines, bills, responsibilities, and distractions all compete for our attention. While these things are part of life, they should never become more important than our walk with Christ.
Jesus has enlisted us to follow Him. Our desire should be to live in a way that pleases Him. So today, take a moment to ask yourself, "What has been distracting me from spending time with the Lord or serving Him wholeheartedly?"
If something has become an entanglement, lay it before Him today. The Lord is faithful to help us refocus our hearts on what matters most.
Until next time, keep your eyes on Jesus.
That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
