Voices Outside Of Scripture

This is Follow Jesus Radio, encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Voices Outside Of Scripture.

We live in a culture that is constantly searching for the next spiritual trend, chasing after "new revelations" or modern philosophies that pull us away from the truth in Jesus. But as followers of Jesus, we do not need to look outside of God's Word. Our anchor is already secure.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 11:29: "Take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

Let's do a reality check right now. True discipleship means we are choosing to follow only the teachings that came from the Lord Jesus. It means we are looking strictly to the example He has already given us.

In the Gospel of John, Jesus says: "For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done for you." — John 13:15

This pattern of following His example applies to every single season of our lives—especially when walking through times of difficulty or suffering. We do not need to seek out new formulas to escape our pain; we simply walk the path Jesus already paved.

The Apostle Peter wrote: "For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in His steps."— 1 Peter 2:21

Instead of looking for voices outside of Scripture, let's open our Bibles today and hear what Jesus has to say directly to our hearts. The truth has already been delivered, and our call is to live it out.

As the Apostle John reminds us:
"The one who says he remains in Him should walk just as He walked." — 1 John 2:6

That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
