This is Follow Jesus Radio, encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Rich's Three Bible Verses For Today.
"So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’ ”
— Luke 17:10 (NIV)
"For when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!"
— 1 Corinthians 9:16 (NIV)
"I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service."
— 1 Timothy 1:12 (NIV)
These three scriptures paint a beautiful, complete picture of what it truly means to serve Jesus in our daily lives.
In Luke, we are reminded of the humility of a servant. When we do good deeds or serve others, we aren't earning extra points or looking for human applause. We are simply doing our duty out of love for our Master.
In Corinthians, Paul shows us the passion of a servant. We don't follow Jesus out of a dry, cold obligation. Instead, we are compelled by His grace. The gospel is a fire inside of us, and we simply cannot keep His love to ourselves.
And finally, in Timothy, we find the gratitude of a servant. It is an absolute privilege that the King of Kings would consider us trustworthy, give us His strength, and invite us to be a part of His work.
Today, let's step into our daily routines with humble, passionate, and grateful hearts, ready to serve the One who gave everything for us.
Let's pray: Father in heaven, my desire is to follow Your Son, Jesus Christ, today. Help me to feed on His word in the Bible and live according to His teachings. Help me to see what You have for me to do in His service today, and give me the grace to carry out His will. Amen.
That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
