This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: The Simple Joy of the Good News.
Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Sometimes we think that sharing the Gospel or evangelism requires a theology degree or a perfectly polished speech. We worry about having all the answers to complex questions or saying exactly the right thing.
But the Great Commission isn't about our complexity; it’s about Jesus’ authority. He starts by saying, "All authority has been given to me." The power is His. We are simply the messengers.
The Good News is actually quite simple: First, Jesus is alive. He conquered death and is present with us today. Second, Jesus forgives. No matter what someone has done, there is a clean slate available through Him.
You don’t need to be a salesperson or a debater. You just need to be a witness. Think of it like finding a great restaurant or a life-changing piece of news—you naturally want to tell the people you care about. Sharing Jesus is simply telling others where you found life and hope.
Today, look for a small opening. It might be a friend who is stressed, a neighbor who is lonely, or a coworker who feels guilty. You don't need a sermon; you just need a sentence: "I've found so much peace knowing Jesus is with me and that He forgives."
Let's pray together. Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of forgiveness and the hope of Your resurrection. Take away my fear of saying the wrong thing. Help me to remember that You have all authority and that You are with me. Open my eyes to someone today who needs to hear the simple truth that You love them, You are alive, and You save. Amen.
As you go about your day, I want to leave you with a reflection question: Who is one person in my life right now who needs to hear that they are forgiven and loved by a living Savior?
That's it for this podcast. Follow Jesus Radio is here 24 hours a day to encourage you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
