This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: More Than Bread.
When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He had not eaten for forty days. He was physically weak and hungry. Satan tempted Him to turn stones into bread—something that seemed reasonable, even necessary. But Jesus responded with Scripture: “Man shall not live on bread alone.”
In that moment, Jesus made something clear: physical needs are real, but they are not ultimate. Life is not sustained by food alone, but by every word that comes from God (Deuteronomy 8:3). God’s Word is not optional—it is essential. Just as your body depends on food, your soul depends on truth.
The problem is, many people feed their bodies daily but starve their souls. They chase comfort, success, and security, yet neglect the very Word that gives life, wisdom, and direction. That is a dangerous imbalance.
Jesus shows us the right response. In temptation, in weakness, in everyday life—He turned to Scripture. He trusted it, obeyed it, and relied on it completely. And if the Son of God depended on the Word, how much more do we?
So ask yourself: are you feeding on God’s Word regularly? Not just hearing it, but taking it in, believing it, and living by it?
True life is not found in what you consume physically, but in knowing and obeying God through His Word. Turn to Scripture. Trust it. Let it shape your thinking, your choices, and your life.
That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
