Our Purpose As Humans

This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Our Purpose As Humans.

In Genesis 1:28, we see God's blessing and command to humanity: "God blessed them and said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth.'"

This verse highlights several important aspects of our purpose as humans. First, God calls us to be fruitful and multiply. This is not just about physical reproduction but also about producing good works and spreading His love and truth in the world. That truth is that Jesus Christ saves us from our sins and offers the free gift of eternal life. We should also be involved in making disciples, or followers of Jesus Christ.

Secondly, the command to "fill the earth and subdue it" reminds us of our responsibility to care for the creation around us. We are stewards of the earth, tasked with managing and protecting the environment and all living creatures.

Finally, the idea of ruling over the fish, birds, and creatures signifies our role in God's creation. We are to exercise dominion with wisdom and compassion, reflecting God's character in how we interact with the world.

As we meditate on this verse, let us remember our calling to be fruitful, to care for creation, and to reflect God's love in all we do.

That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
