Called and Saved

This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Called and Saved.

Romans 10:13 gives a clear and powerful promise: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” That is a sure promise from God—no uncertainty, no exceptions for those who truly call on Him.

But what does it actually mean to “call on the name of the Lord”? It’s more than saying the name “Jesus.” It is a heartfelt cry of repentance and faith. It means you come to God acknowledging your sin, turning away from it, and trusting in Jesus Christ alone—His life, death, and resurrection—as your only hope for forgiveness and righteousness.

Calling on the Lord sounds like this in real life: “Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I have gone my own way and broken Your law. I cannot save myself. I turn from my sin and trust in You alone. Please forgive me, change my heart, and be my Lord.”

Those words are not a formula—the power is not in repeating a script—but in genuine repentance and real faith in Christ.

And even this calling is not something we produce on our own. God, in His kindness, draws sinners to Himself and enables them to call on Him. So if you feel the weight of your sin and the need for Christ, do not resist—respond.

The promise still stands: everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. So call on Him today—sincerely, humbly, and fully trusting in Jesus Christ—and rest in His saving grace.

That's it for this podcast. Remember, Jesus loves you and is just a prayer away.
