Our Created Purpose

This is Follow Jesus Radio encouraging you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow him daily. The title of this devotional thought is: Our Created Purpose.

Psalm 139:13 is a beautiful reminder of God's intimate knowledge and involvement in our lives, even before we were born. The verse says, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb." This speaks to the profound truth that our existence is not an accident, but a deliberate and loving act of creation by God. He knows us completely, from the very core of our being.

This understanding lays the foundation for why we were created to be followers of Jesus. If God so meticulously and lovingly created us, it follows that He has a purpose for us. Jesus Himself revealed this purpose when He said in John 14:6, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Our creation by God points us towards Him, and Jesus is the ultimate revelation of God and the path to Him.

When we recognize that we were fearfully and wonderfully made, as Psalm 139:14 also states, "I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made," it inspires a desire to live according to the One who made us. Following Jesus isn't a burden, but a response to the love and purpose embedded in our very design. He came to redeem us and restore us to the relationship with God that was intended from the beginning, 

Our created purpose, therefore, is to reflect the glory of our Creator and to walk in the way He has shown us through Jesus. This means embracing His teachings, following His example, and allowing His Spirit to transform us into His likeness. It’s about aligning our lives with the One who knows us best and loves us most, finding our true identity and fulfillment in Him.
