Christian - forgiven - grateful

Welcome. My name is Richard Templin Hancock and I’m here to encourage you to have faith in Jesus Christ and follow Him daily. I'm glad you're here—let's walk this path together.

Repent is not a forbidden word

Repent is not a forbidden word. Though you might think differently if you sat in a church and the word never comes up.

Jesus preached that we must repent:
Matthew 4:17 From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say, “Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”

Jesus called sinners to repent:
Matthew 9:13 But you go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Jesus denounced cities that did not repent at his message:
Matthew 11:20 Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent.

Jesus said there was joy in heaven over a sinner who repented:
Luke 15:7 I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.

Jesus told church members to repent:
Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.

Is there any sin in our lives that we need to repent of? Remember, Jesus is just a prayer away.
